Finally, just yesterday, we were able to go inside the Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine: Site of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence. If you are following my instagram account (@wanderingcheekygirl) you already know that Lemuel and I have been here but during its closed day. Traveler tip 102931 (random number, ok? :D) = check the opening hours.

Bomb shelter - at first, concrete shelter was a short well that had an undergound tunnel leading to the church. Soon, it was cemented and turned into a mere shelter due to strangers showing up inside Aguinaldo's house. Privacy nga naman! Di uso magpaalam, besh?
BEFORE ENTERING THE SECOND FLOOR
Those who will go upstrairs must then again sign the guestbook. According the the guide, upstairs, you must take the left wing first which shows the rooms of his daughters. The rooms of Cristina Aguinaldo-Suntay, Maria Aguinaldo-Poblete, and Carmen Aguinaldo-Melencio form part of the Family Wing. As the fashionin the early 20th century, furnishings and accessories were a mixture of European, Chinese, and Filipino styles. Bongga!

Bring your kids here for history appreciation. Sadly, tumbang preso and sekyo has been replaced by gadget apps nowadays. The place is bigger than Bahay ni Rizal located at Calamba, Laguna.
Love local. Love the Philippines. Our ancestors has gone through a lot for what we have right now, freedom from the conquerors.
