Teasing Heights at Tree Top Adventure Nature Park Subic (in photos and videos)

Experience is the best teacher. Live life to the fullest while young. Though these quotes are overused, it is right. So am I afraid of heights? Nah.. Not me.. Maybe, sometimes, the birthday boy *insert sarcastic laugh*

To celebrate Lemuel's birthday and check one item of his bucket list, a worthy long drive date with the beautiful, sexy, gorgeous, and hot girlfriend, we went to Subic. Our first destination is the Tree Top Adventure Nature Park at Subic. It is a park where with its attractions, you can really get high on nature by having adrenaline rush while above the ground with Mother Earth.

WHERE?
(SUBIC) Jest Area, Upper Mau, Cubi Point, Subic Bay Freeport Zone

or
(BAGUIO) Special Tourism Economic Zone, Camp John Hay
Loakan Road, Baguio City

ATTRACTIONS

CANOPY RIDE
I wanted to skip this because at first it looks corny. I was there for thrill and not a slow moving ride on air. Since the birthday boy insisted, I obeyed. I was obliged. Haha! Kidding aside, the 30-45 minute that consists of hanging bridge walking, picture taking, and cable riding turned out to be the appetizer. It was worth it. I recommend it to be first on your list since population may get big throughout the day.

The forest we explored through the trail is in the middle of Zambales and Pampanga. We also saw Red and White Lauan trees. There, I learned that KUPANG tree is the source of chopsticks and matches because of its soft interior. Aetas once lived inside the big tree. Carving was easier than living inside Narra. I wonder how it is to live inside a tree.

SUPERMAN TURBO CHARGED
Like superman's pose while flying, we were hanged with triangle bars. From the name itself, we were like superman with turbo pack on our feet. It was the fastest horizontal aerial ride for me so far! NO cameras allowed here also. We had to leave our cameras so we asked the operator take photos of us before the ride. We had two rounds of back and forth fast zip line like experience. It was the birthday boy's favorite.

TREE DROP
Here, I was hanged 60 feet from the ground and was released. It was the best for me. I experienced live the scene I always see on animation movies whenever a chick is falling from its nest. That 5-10 seconds drop of my life was surreal!

SILVER SURFER
We didn't try this. I'll come back. However, this is the idea, you will "surf into the wind with a fellow rider, and glide from one treetop to another, while seeing an unmatched view of the forest wilderness" -their site

TREKKING
According to my BBF, this one is good. They learned how to survive the jungle. I'll try this next time. This is the idea from their site, "experience aims to promote a greater appreciation of nature in its rugged beauty, and native ecosystems... learn how to make a bonfire or drink from water vines while taking a tour of Subic’s remarkably diverse environment at the Treetop trekking trail..."

INTERACTIVE FREE FALL
A little higher than the tree drop, this is their idea, "...descend minus the parachute from 75 feet high, and bob up and down the air in the ride of your life..."

TIPS
  1. Wear comfortable clothes. Avoid wearing black since a black body absorbs 100% of radiation.
  2. Bring bottled water and umbrella. Put sunblock. Mr. Sun is happily giving off his love to Earth. Heat heat heat heat heat.
  3. Bring camera for Canopy Ride since the guide will be the one to stop and take photos for you. Luckily, the guide we had was so funny and obviously loves his job. Thanks a lot for the photos! :D
  4. Action cameras are prohibited in Tree Drop since it is a hazard. I was not able to have a good photo of myself being hanged since I forgot to ask them. Sigh. Move on moment... You may leave your camera to ever friendly operators. They are trust worthy. However, don't expect too much during peak season and expecting will 'cause you disappointments. #HugotBaYun
  5. Let loose in Superman ride. Don't be afraid to release grip and tension. I tried not putting pressure on the bar. I was hanged anyway.
  6. Go there eaaaaarrlllyyyyy. Luckily, we finished before the tour bus arrived. I can't imagine in queue waiting for about 40 people to finish per ride. #patienceisavirtue
  7. Make up your minds because there is no refund policy. Once the tickets are bought, no coward hearts allowed!
  8. Leave nothing but footprints. Take nothing but photos. <better go by four to have photos and videos #userfriendly>
  9. Lastly, enjoy the moment!

To wrap this up, I will definitely go back and try ALL the attractions. I recommend this adventure park especially to those who want to get high on nature, literally and idiomatically. Adrenaline rush on heights, checked! As what I wrote on their survey form, it was BITIN. Moooooore! :)

  2. when compared to the ones mentioned above. For children, learning to ride a bicycle, horse riding, exploring an abandoned house, taking a roller coaster ride, or getting onto a giant wheel for the first time, may all constitute an adventure. Learn this here now
